Privacy Policy

How HS Global collects, uses and protects your information

1. Who we are

HS Global Limited ("HS Global", "we", "us") is a wholesale FMCG distributor of 13 Lewisher Road, Leicester LE4 9LR, United Kingdom, supplying trade customers only. We are the data controller for the personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at sales@hsglobal.co.uk, on 0116 319 0120, or via our Contact page.

2. What we collect

When you apply for or use a trade account we collect:

  • Contact details — your name, email address and phone number
  • Business details — business name, delivery address, company registration number and VAT number (where provided)
  • Account and order records — the orders you place, prices applied, and account correspondence
  • Technical basics — information needed to keep you signed in and keep the site secure

3. How we use your information

  • To review and administer your trade account application
  • To process and fulfil your orders — order details are transferred to our internal order and stock management system
  • To apply the correct trade pricing to your account
  • To contact you about your account, orders and deliveries
  • To keep proper business and tax records

4. Business verification checks

Because our accounts are available to registered businesses only, we verify the business details you supply against official public registers: the company number you provide may be checked against the Companies House register, and the VAT number you provide may be checked using HM Revenue & Customs' (HMRC) "Check a UK VAT number" service. These checks confirm information you have given us against public records; the results are used solely to decide whether to approve your trade account and to prevent fraud. We rely on our legitimate interest in supplying registered businesses only as the lawful basis for these checks.

5. Lawful bases

  • Contract — administering your account and fulfilling your orders
  • Legitimate interests — verifying business details, preventing fraud, and running a trade-only service
  • Legal obligation — keeping tax, VAT and accounting records we are required to hold

6. Who we share it with

Your data is shared only with the service providers that run this website (hosting and database providers), our internal order-management system, and delivery providers where needed to fulfil your orders. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing purposes.

7. How long we keep it

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Order, invoice and payment records are kept for six years after the end of the relevant financial year, as required for UK tax purposes. If your application is declined or you close your account, we remove personal data that we have no legal obligation to retain.

8. Cookies and local storage

We use only essential cookies — those needed to keep you signed in to your account. Your shopping basket is stored in your own browser, not on our servers, until you place an order. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data or complete incomplete data
  • Ask us to delete your data (subject to records we must keep by law)
  • Object to or ask us to restrict processing based on legitimate interests

To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the Contact page. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page with the date below.
